You might be surprised how inexpensive it is to get your current appliance repaired, therefor saving you hundreds of pounds buying a new one.

Hi my name is Quintin Howatson, I am an independent Domestic Appliance Engineer based in Ayr.

I repair almost all domestic electrical appliances.

Please bear in mind I may be working or driving when you call and maybe unable to answer the phone.

However please leave your name and number and I will call you back asap.

Please have a note of the make, model number and approximate age of your appliance before you call.

Quality matters that is why all work is fully guaranteed for 6 months. This covers parts and labour, providing you keep your receipt.

There are a very few safety related parts that are not covered by manufacturers guarantees, for example safety thermostats. Some manufacturers are now only giving a 3 months guarantee on parts. If this applies to you I will inform you before fitting and explain what guarantee you have. Unfortunately due to domestic manufacturers policies I cannot now do guarantees for repairs on appliances that are used in commercial premises.

As you will appreciate this is out with my control.

I have been in business now since 2002 and pride myself on my reliability. If you make an appointment with me I guarantee to be there at or around the time we arrange.

I will not let you down as I understand how frustrating it is when tradesmen do not appear.

Had an issue with our Beko dishwasher. I phoned Quintin, he diagnosed the issue over the phone. Quintin then told me how to sort the issue. I had it up and running in 10 minutes. Fortunately, it turned out to be a simple fix and he got my machine working again in no time. He also gave me a few useful tips. Had a fault with our dishwasher. Contacted Quinton by phone and an appointment was arranged. The fault was quickly determined and expertly repaired. The fault was a broken wire, but in an area out of sight and not accessible under normal circumstances. The cost was less than expected. I have no worries about recommending Quintin to anyone needing a domestic appliance repair.

Friendly, trustworthy service, superfast.

Very professional, quick no hassle response from Quintin. Having previously used him I had no hesitation in using him again. Reliable.

Called yesterday afternoon, came out this morning. Gave a window for the appointment, wore a mask, was happy to share vaccinaton status, and kept distant, as vulnerable person was in the house. Polite, efficient, no fuss service. Washing machine fixed within half an hour. We have had several repairs over the years, and Mr Howatson has always been reliable.

Great service.

Outstanding service ! Really grateful to Quintin who I phoned today as my elderly mother’s washing machine door handle broke with a load of washing in machine and more needing done . He was working nearby , came within half an hour , found the problem and luckily had the spare part in his car! Can’t ask for better than that . Very professional service , lovely chap and reasonable price too. Delighted with the service in all respects , can highly recommend .

Really great service.

Phoned Ayrshire Domestics today as my washing machine had suddenly stopped working. Explained the situation to Quintin who immediately had an idea about what the problem may be. He arrived a couple of hours later, I hadn’t expected a same day service! Quintin immediately set to work and fixed the problem. Great service and much appreciated.

Highly Recommend

My husband spoke to you this morning and you identified the problem with my washer drier without even coming out - a bra wire stuck through the drum. My husband was able to remove it and the machine is fine. I cannot thank you enough for your help and honest approach. If I had phoned anyone else I know I would have faced a hefty call out charge. Can't recommend highly enough

Very professional

First rate service

Quintin came to my property three times within a week - always on time - to fix my washer dryer. Turned out that there was a fault which was a potential fire hazard so we decided to scrap the machine. Quintin insisted on refunding me half of the call out charge, which I thought was absolutely amazing. Would not hesitate to recommend his service and he will be the first I will call for any future problems.

What can I say about this guy except his work and speed is first class. I called him out to an elderly lady who was desperate for her oven to be repaired. Within two hours Ayrshire Domestics came out and fully repaired it with no disruption to the lady . The gentleman explained everything he was doing as he went along . Mr Howatson is reliable, upfront with repair costs, efficient and pleasant. I strongly recommend him and will have no hesitation in contacting him again should an appliance require attention.,Mr Howatson diagnosed the problem with the machine and gave me a price for the repair, over the phone . An arrangement was made for him to come to fix it and he arrived promptly. He certainly knew his way around what is a fairly old model and the new pump was installed with the minimum amount of fuss. Because of its age he had a thorough inspection, finding another small part badly worn which would soon also cause bother. To save another call out it was agreed that this also be replaced. I strongly recommend Mr Howatson: he is professional, upfront with his charges, reliable and pleasant. I shall certainly call him again if any other appliances require attention.
